![]() | Loblolly Bay was created in the spirit of boating, swimming, fishing, tennis, and lounging at the beach. It actually started out as two separate golf clubs - Loblolly Bay Yacht Club and Loblolly Pines, just across the street. Once they merged, they formed what is now known as Loblolly, a 275-member-owned Club with a vast array of amenities, including an 18-hole golf course, private marina, 10 Har-Tru tennis courts, community swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and dining facilities, as well as beach access toward the northern end of esteemed Jupiter Island. The Marina, situated 3 miles south of the St. Lucie Inlet with no fixed bridges, offers 79 deep water slips and is able to accommodate yachts up to 110 feet. Loblolly Bay is divided between the Bay neighborhood, featuring the casual architecture of wood and cedar roofs, and the Pines, offering a more island flavor with tile roofs and stucco. |
Located in Hobe Sound, The Medalist Golf Club was created to pay tribute to the game of golf. This was made possible by golfing legend Greg Norman and the esteemed Pete Dye, who worked together for the first time in their careers to create a course lined with trees, marshes, and fast greens. Also working with Norman was Zuckerman Homes, who helped to create the 87 limited edition custom estate homes with price tags ranging from the $900,000s to over $2 million. Homes sit on one quarter of an acre to over half an acre of land, providing peace and privacy to its residents. Other amenities include a 26,000 square foot clubhouse featuring two dining options, a rest stop, and three guest cottages. | ![]() |

A Nature Lover's Dream...
A nature lover's dream, Hobe Sound offers plenty of ways to get a close look at its natural surroundings and abundant wildlife. One of residents' and visitors' favorites is to hop aboard the Manatee Queen or Island Princess and take a guided tour along the Intracoastal Waterway, Indian River, Loxahatchee River, or St. Lucie River. On these cruises, it isn't uncommon for frolicking porpoises and docile manatees swim to the surface in greeting.

The second largest park in Florida, Jonathan Dickinson State Park is another fascinating stop in Hobe Sound, commonly referred to as the city's "crown jewel." The park spans a whopping 11,500 acres and features a variety of attractions sure to please even the pickiest of visitors. These include rental boats, cabins, bike trails, and Loxahatchee River tours given by the Loxahatchee Queen II. A natural habitat for deer, raccoons, foxes, bobcats, opossums, gators, and otters, Jonathan Dickinson State Park surpasses all other wildlife destinations in the area. For bird lovers, the park is also home to over 140 species of birds.
Another point of interest is the Hobe Sound Nature Center, offering a mix of environmental and wildlife programs for people of all ages. If you are interested in turtle nesting, the Nature Center is permitted by the state to lead turtle walks during June and July, at the peak of nesting season. There are few things more fascinating than witnessing a mother turtle emerging from the ocean, crawling onto the shores, and laying her eggs, with only the moon's reflection to guide her back into her natural habitat.
Blowing Rocks Preserve is another popular Hobe Sound Destination. Located on Jupiter Island, it is a highly frequented place for swimming, snorkeling, and fishing.
